Almost since they began publishing, I have been an editor and consultant for Jazz Lines Publications, part of ejazzlines.com, The Global Source for Jazz (and they aren’t kidding). They particularly specialize in jazz books, arrangements, how-to’s and DVDs. Rob and Doug DuBoff run this operation, with Dylan Canterbury as editor/engraver.
Jazz Lines Publications now has several hundred compositions and arrangements in its catalog, representing such composer/arrangers as Manny Albam, Gil Evans, Mary Lou Williams, Frank Foster, Gerry Mulligan, Rob McConnell, Thad Jones, Pete Rugolo, Joe Henderson, Benny Golson, Eddie Sauter, Tadd Dameron, George Russell, Nelson Riddle, Oliver Nelson, Tom Kubis, John Fedchock and Duke Jordan, music from the libraries of Charlie Parker, Terry Gibbs, Artie Shaw, Supersax, and Art Pepper, and the performers Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Nat “King” Cole, Dean Martin and many, many others. 99% of the music comes from original scores and/or parts.
Working on these arrangements with Rob continues my dream of seeing this music made available to anyone in excellent editions with monies paid to publishers, composer/arrangers and estates.
